TOTAL
CHOLESTEROL DR.AKBAR KAUSAR'S KASINI POWDER AND CAPSULES REDUCES AND CONTROLES CHOLESTEROL LEVELS IN THE BLOOD. |
| Cholesterol level in blood is increased in diabetes mellitus. In the absence or insufficiency of insulin, fatty acids are catabolised to produce acetyl CoA, which cannot be readily utilized, So acetyl CoA pool is increased and is channeled into cholesterol synthesis. The serum cholesterol of the subjects was therefore determined before the start of the treatment. The mean serum cholesterol level of the diabetic volunteers is depicted in Table XIII. |

XIII SERUM TOTAL CHOLESTEROL LEVEL OF THE DIABETICS |

| Serum cholesterol concentrations between 200-220 mg/dl are deemed borderline
for myocardial infarction (Vasudevan and Sreekumari, 1998). Accordingly
the groups I, ll and lll were found to be in the borderline category, initially.
But after the Dr. Akbar Kausar's Kasini treatment, the mean serum cholesterol
level decreased significantly (P<0.05). The mean decrease was 19, 30
and 20 mg/dl respectively for I, II and III group. It is evident that the supplementation of all the three forms of kasini was effective in Iowering the serum cholesterol levels of the subjects. It is worthy to note that the serum cholesterol levels were brought down within the safe limit. This clearly indicates the hypocholestrolemic effect of Dr. Akbar Kausar's kasini preparations. |
