The mean level of HDL-cholesterol in subjects supplemented with Dr. Akbar Kausar's Kasini keerai or tablet or the powder is presented in Table XVII.

HDL - cholesterol level above 60 mg/dl virtually protects against heart disease. Even at the start of the study, the mean HDL - cholesterol was above 60 mg/dl in all the three groups.
The serum HDL - cholesterol level, before supplementation of Dr. Akbar Kausar's Kasini keerai was 69±8.1, 66±9.1 and 60±7.4 mg/dl in groups I, II and III respectively. It raised to 72 ±7.2 in group I after six months of supplementation, while it raised to 75±7.7 and 69±7.0 mg/dl in II and lll groups respectively after nine months. However the differences were not statisfically significant between the groups.
From the results, it may be inferred that Dr. Akbar Kausar's Kasini and the Dr. Akbar Kausar's Kasini preparations have both hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic effects. All the three forms were found to be effective, But the subjects found it difficult to consume the greens everyday and easier to consume the decoction of Dr. Akbar Kausar's Kasini powder twice daily or Dr. Akbar Kausar's Kasini tablets thrice a day.
